XBOX ONE-1TB HARD DRIVE ???

Hi I understand this year Sep,Oct,Nov ? there is new Xbox One coming out with 1TB Hard Drive for new Call Of Duty and Sunset Drive etc ? will there a 1TB hard drive u can just buy and swap on the console that has 500GB as I don't see on the console how
u can open it with out breaking the SEAL on back can u open it on the side ike the xbox 360.As id rather not just trade in my xbox one just to upgrade.I Know on the xbox 360 u can just swap hard drive's around as there is side panel that comes off.Thank you.

if adverts for "compatible" external hard drives are any indication it would seem the external storage patch should be coming some time soon although I note it wont be in the first patch released.

Removing and replacing the hard drive voids your warranty. It is probably do able but it would be tricky to do. The hard drive is internal and requires opening up the case to do so.

 

For the price of buying the newer console or voiding warranty you can buy any USB 3.0 external HDD up to 16tb. You could add 2-3 TB of storage for very little. $130 AUD will buy a 2TB external here.

 

Buy a USB powered hard drive, put it behind your xbox and save yourself a lot of hassle and money.

 

I can see why people would prefer an internal option to external.

Space could be an issue, you've now got to find room for an extra device somewhere near your console, and an extra power socket if you choose to go the powered external route.

It could also be simple bull headedness. "Microsoft sold me an all in one device, why do I need stuff outside it."

 

There are plenty off large enough BUS powered drives that can sit on top of X1 or behind it with no problem. Also means no reinstalling of games digital or disc and mobility with your games if you choose to take then to another console. Even 1TB internal
will eventually be not enough.

The Sunset Overdrive white console includes a 500GB HDD and a digital copy of Sunset Overdrive. It does not include Kinect. It's priced at $399 USD.

The Call of Duty Advanced Warfare console includes a 1TB HDD and a digital copy of Advanced Warfare. It does not include Kinect. It's priced at $499 USD.

You can buy a USB 3.0 500GB 2.5" portable HDD for $50, or a 1TB model for $60-$70. Why would you spend $500 on a Kinect-less Xbox One kit just to get $50-$70 more in HDD space?

 

While it is madness (imho) that this console was released with only a 500gb drive, I think it is equally crazy to upgrade your current one for the 1 TB version. Certainly a person could find room to install an external drive now that the option exists.
I think that option would make the most sense too and you can go well beyond 1 TB as well.

dam who wants white xbox one u can see all the muck dirt show up also it hard of clean off that cod duty one don't look great ever lol which they had some skins for sunset over drive instead of plain white.

p.s I cant see a Destiny console bundle for launch but PS4 has all read jumped out with one I spotted it in my local GAME UK THANKS U FOR REPLYS AND HELP

 

You should have room on top of your Xbox for the vents to breath anyway, so put it on the side that has no vents, or at the back near the power, not to mention it's USB so is only limited by length of cable. The "can't find room" argument is pathetic.

I think its worth mentioning you can have multiple drives plugged in at the same time, and more with games on not plugged in, will be a huge bonus 5 years from now when you have movies, music and games on several external devices and not limited to one internal
disk.

While skins and decals are cool, I don't think the price is generally worth it if it's only going to sit in your room where only you can see it. Now, if you are the kind of person who often takes it to a friend's house or to LAN parties, or who wants it
to match their wood furniture, I suppose I could understand. Otherwise, no thanks...
