    Xbox On/ Xbox Turn Off does not power on off Tivo Virgin Media


    I have a virgin Media TiVo cable box running through my Xbox One. It work albeit with two annoying faults. When I power on the Xbox, it will not power on the cable box, so I need to leave it on all the time. Also the xbox does not seem to be controlling
    the live functions of the box.

    anyone got any ideas as to where Ive gone wrong?

    Power options not working properly

    So I have set the Power options to turn on and off my TV with the Xbox One. This works fine.

    I have now connected my Virgin Media Set top box (Cisco 4585DVB - NOT TIVO) through the Xbox One and want it to do the same. Using the setup guide the box turns off and on OK however when I use it normally the box wont turn off.

    I set both power options for the cable box to Toggle. I don't understand why it works in the setup (so it must have the right IR codes) but not normally.

    Oneguide and Virgin Media (SMT-C7101) not working?

    Hello,

    I have a 1tb Samsung SMT-C7101 virgin media TiVo box and have not been able to use Oneguide with it. I have read that similar versions of the box work (I can see the TV itself but just not use any of the Oneguide controls).

    I have tried setting it up with 'Virgin Media' as the brand and 'TiVo' as one forum member suggested but no joy. I have tried the actual model number above but it is not on the list. I have also tried clicking on similar model numbers but it does not work.
    Also, the automatic one (where it should power the box off) did not manage to turn it off.

    Any suggestions, I would really appreciate it!

    Hi,

    Are you using Kinect? the Xbox One unfortunately doesn't have HDMI-CEC so cannot control the TiVo directly. The Kinect sensor must be used to send an IR signal through the room which your TiVo should pick up on and then turn on.

    If you are using Kinect, you will need to go to 'Settings' and then under 'Power' you can select the TV/AV settings and you can setup your 'Set Top Box' settings. I have both the options for when the Xbox turns on/off set to 'Toggle' and it works fine.

    I've only had a Kinect for a couple of days but have had no issues after this setup.

    hiya what you could also try is in the device control section of the settings make sure you have the cable or satellite box set to Virgin Media Tivo ...so CABLE OR SATELLITE BOX BRAND set to Virgin Media and then CABLE OR SATELLITE BOX MODEL set to TiVo....this
    worked for me and should give you access to the functions you want.

    As above, I found the key is to make sure you DO NOT use the "Guide me" option to set this up but instead, after choosing the brand as Virgin Media, use the second option to manually enter the model number as Tivo.

    If you just enter the brand and let the Xbox guide you through the rest of the setup it will, successfully, test the power on/off function and not think to check for other features. If you manually enter the model as Tivo the RW/FF etc features work as expected.
