Xbox on Windows 10 "needs an internet connection."

This would depend on the type of VPN service you are using, as sharing your network may not actually share the VPN connection.

Then you will need to type in the details of the windows sharing connection in the Xbox. As you will not connect to the router but your windows 10 PC to access the internet now.

depending on what you want to do:

1. You can turn off the network connection from your Xbox network settings by choosing the option "Go offline"

2. You can restrict your router from allowing the Xbox IP address, though I only encourage this option, if you know all about router configuration and network settings.

What I want to do is stop the xbox app from going out to the internet and connecting to some server.

I tried to terminate the app but it seems to ignore it.

I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't something else that has to be terminated first.

I don't want to shut down the internet.

I want to stop the windows 10 xbox app from connecting.

I believe you're asking how to disable the internet connection from your Xbox / Windows 10.

If that's the case, try this:

1. Rick Click on the Network Internet Access Icon on the bottom right of your screen.

2. Select "Open Network & Internet settings"

3. Click on Change adaptor options

4. Click on Ethernet Network

5. Click on "Disable"
