    Xbox on Windows 10 mic help


    Just wondering if there is any way that I can use my Xbox One controller with the mic that comes with the console for chat (and not for the game audio) on Xbox on Windows 10?

    Whenever I play Sea of Thieves/Gears of War 4 on my PC and want to use the Xbox mic to talk to teammates, the audio for both the game chat and the game/PC audio go through the headset. This may be a very nooby question and I hope this is the right place
    to ask!

    party chat on xbox app on pc

    I am using xbox on windows 10 on my pc and it wont detect my microphone.

    I have gone into the settings and allowed xbox access to my mic but when i start or join a party it still wont detect my mic. it just says mic not detected over my name in the party.

    any help would be greatXbox on Windows 10 mic help :)

    no headset mic streaming since March 2017 Update

    Hi,

    since the march 2017 update applied itself to my xbox one, the headset mic no longer registers when streaming from any of my windows 10 computers.

    * problem started after xbox one update

    * tried restarting xbox one

    * tried total power cycle

    * using official xbox one wireless adaptor

    * using official xbox one controllers

    * streaming works but the no mic icon is always there

    * party chat says no mic detected

    * xbox headset and mic are default on windows and are working

    * windows 10 creators update did not resolve it

    * running latest xbox and xbox beta apps

    * clean install of windows doesn't help

    * tried wireless and wired connections

    * tried with the headset adaptor and with the 3.5 jack directly

    * controller shows no firmware update required

    * tried multiple controllers

    * headset works fine when not streaming (i.e using directly on xbox)

    i'm out of options, is this known to be broken? if any any timescale on a fix?

    Hey there,

    Is your Windows 10 install currently activated at least, or are you running Windows 10 without a key currently? While it may not be interfering with your mic, it does get a little tough for us if the Windows 10 install isn't activated by a key yet. Additionally,
    is your Windows 10 PC struggling to detect the headset or is it only when used within the Xbox app. Does the mic pick up audio within 'Microphone setup' (Search 'Microphone setup' on the Start Menu to test).

    Lastly, do you happen to own a different pair of headphones with a mic to test? That will help us narrow down if the issue is specifically with that Turtle Beach headset or if Windows isn't picking up sound in general. If it is only occurring with your Turtle
    Beach headset, you will want to reach out to Turtle Beach support for further assistance.

    Hey DARTH LimiteDZz, since you are experiencing issues with your Xbox App on your Windows 10 PC, I shifted your thread to the better suited section - just a head's up! :)

    That said, let's have you check some settings:

    • Is your version of Windows 10 fully updated?
    • Is your Xbox App fully up to date?
    • Is your USB mic's firmware fully updated?
    • And what USB mic are you trying to use?
    Check for those updates and see if any of that helps. If not, post back with your mic's information and we'll see what we can do next. :)

    Can't update to the latest version of the App at all

    Hello @DaughterComet89. You have the latest version of the Xbox app. In order to use mic recording you need the November update of Windows 10 as well. Please look here for information on updating your OS:
