XBOX on Win10 / GFWL Achievements / Games Question

First of, let me say - it won't be easy.

Now into the meat and potatoes of it. There's a bunch of games on Steam that still have GFWL enabled. True Achievements has a good list of them here:

https://www.trueachievements.com/gfwl-enabled-on-steam/games. Generally they'll just work, but some of them will give you issues like Fable 3 or GTA4. For those you just download, install, and hope they work. If they don't work you start debugging.

For others l like Batman Arkham City, you need to buy the actual game disk to get the GFWL version. You can get it from places like Amazon or eBay sometimes - but you need to be very careful and make sure it's the GFWL version. If you owned the game on
Steam before it was converted from Steam to GFWL you can contact Steam to get your old GFWL key and it'll work for you.

For other games like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, you're out of luck. There's no disk version, and the Steam version for GFWL is gone.

Plants vs Zombies is not a GFWL game and does not have achievements tied to the XBL/GFWL service.



Only games that are marked Games For Windows Live will have achievements. Not all games purchased from the GFW marketplace are GFWL. There are also games marked Games For Windows, these will not have achievements.

. But in order to earn achievements, it has to conenct to some sort of Microsoft server correct? My concern is if I earn achievements in a backup of the game via an ISO copy, would Microsoft see that as a pirated copy? I dont want to get banned for earning
achievements in a "pirated game", I'm just unsure if Microsoft specifically has any rules about using ISO backups and i can't seem to find anything elsewhere online about this subject.

You can't earn achievements for these games anymore as these games can not connect to Live. You can only play these games offline.

That's why the GOG.com version of Fallout 3 has no GFWL functionality, the box for Live is greyed out. The Batman games sold on Steam have Steam achievements now.

Thank you for how helpful you have been, but this is not true. Fallout 3 on steam still has unlockable achievements you can earn on GFWL, I've just done it recetly. The GFWL marketplace has been shut down, not the GFWL service. You can still earn achievements
on some GFWL discs and even some on certIn steam games, such as fallout 3. I'm aware the batman games have had their xbox achievements removed from the steam versions, but older disc versions of GFWL still have unlockable achievements. I dont mean to be rude
or to argue with you, but you shouldn't give people false information. My original question was over Microsoft's view of ISO backups, not if or how to get GFWL achievements to work.

I tried updat the phone to win10 but there‘re more bugs in the vision, so I rollback to win8.1 years before. The question is I completed some achievements and synchronized with my xbox live few days ago, suddenly the app “games" can't sign in xbox.

Tinker is also free. It's a PC game, but it has Xbox 360 achievements. You need to download GFWL.
