    Agreed Rippen, so unless they can find a way to get us into the game and impress us;

    Streaming to another room or moving console >>>> strapping box to face.

  2. How does one get on the xbox one x Oculus Rift Beta test?

    I just got an Oculus Rift for my PC. Works great. I know there was some talk that the VR sets would work with xbox. I know my PC and I know my xbox one x.. Oculus will work flawlessly with Xbox One X. Now how do I get on the Xbox Insider Oculus Beta team?

  3. XBOX ONE VR

    I think Oculus will eventually work with Xbox, it's currently sold with an Xbox one controller. Plus a quick Google will give you more information on Oculus and Xbox/Microsoft.

    AR and VR are just gimmicks imo, gaming will still be done on a screen with a controller for the forseeable future.

    Xbox + Oculus = Pointless?

    "Screen and controller".....

    There are gamers who play with keyboard & mouse,touch screen,smart phones,driving wheel,motion control,....

    Welcome to the "gimmicks" present.

    Tzar all those are still a screen and a controller, whatever shape or form the controller takes. I agree with Boas a gimmick that's going to be short lived.

    keyboard and mouse, steering wheel etc all fall under controller i.e. something you hold in your hand to control the game.

    Anyway apart from touchscreen (keyboard and mouse for pc) the rest are gimmicks i.e. steering wheels and flight sticks are gimmicks otherwise people would play racer and flying sims without them.

    Its like kinect games, just gimmicks.

    Gesture = controler.

    Voice = controller.

    Glasses = screen.

    Oculus is just a 360 degree screen in front of your eyes with motion control....Same "gimmick" than a static TV screen.

    Xbox + Oculus = Pointless?

    I find it amazing so many people are passing judgment on something that they have absolutely no experience with.

    I have used a friends OR (development kit) for dozens of hours over the last year and half. Even games that have been DIY'd by the community to run with the OR look and play phenomenally (Skyrim, BF, etc).

    I'm someone who can't play Borderlands 2 on the console with feeling like I'm going to puke because of the limited FoV but have had no issues with motion sickness and the OR.

    If the consoles can bring the type of VR experience that I've experienced on the PC then this will easily be the biggest innovation we've seen in gaming in a very long time.

    The biggest hurdle I think is comfort. I hate wearing a headset so the thought of wearing a VR "helmet" isn't very appealing but the immersion it brings to gaming would be worth the annoyance for me.

    As long as the tech is supported by game developers it's a day one purchase for me when the retail versions come out.

    With a price looking like $1500 its doomed from the start, no way is a peripheral going to appeal to a mass market at that kind of price.

    @Genchy

    Where was that price announced?

    The OR DK2 that comes with all the stuff for developers is only 350 bucks, I figured we'd be looking at closer to 150 bucks for the retail consumer version but haven't seen an announcement yet.
