xbox notifications of non-friends!?!?

idk what the problem is, if i was hacked or what!?

you know how when a friend on your
friend list comes online and its like pop "XXX is online"

i received two or three notifications playing online just now, and they were people that were not on my friends list. i said to myself, whos that? i looked through my friends list to make sure i didn't add someone on accident. and they werent there and i cannot
recall them being in my recent players list either.

i played black ops 1 earlier today, i think i could have been in a hacked lobbyed? im not too sure it was hacked (i havent played that game in a while) or if it would be related to this problem. i was on the map summit and suicided and got some weird "-e1(something)"
on the screen similar to how when you get a kill +100 pops up.

i start playing again now, a few hours later. i was playing minecraft and its the first time i have noticed people whom were not on my friends list popping up through xbox notifications. no one was joining my mine-craft game either.

is anyone else familiar with this problem? is it a glitch or was i hacked? (did they delete themselves off of my friends list as soon as they came online?)

Continued Notification Lag

When friends/peps send you messages on Xbox Live, Notifications aren't that laggy now.

But... the orange achievement notifications are quite laggy now compare those "achievement" notifications with how non-laggy the achievement notifications are on the Xbox 360, which pop up with practically no lag - smooth and fluid. That's how notifications
should work. This is probably a

"software" issue more than a "it's your internet".

Stop receiving notifications from non-friends

I've followed the second suggestion, as I've power cycled a few times since first noticing these removed people still popping up.

Obviously I'll have to wait to see if this has full prevented the "is online" notifications from those people.

One side note, there is one person who I'm sure I removed before I got my Xbox One, but post X1 launch, who I still get online notifications about.

And as I said above, I was getting those notifications from people I've actually blocked since removing.

The blocking was an attempt to prevent those notifications.

Another thing, I'm still seeing certain blocked people appear in my followers list.

This is what I find the most annoying about the X1 friends system.

Why couldn't have been kept the same as the Xbox360 and simply have friend requests?

At least back then you could remove someone and you wouldn't see them come online once removed.

I doubt that you've been hacked, maybe it's just a bug or else maybe they did delete you when they came online.

but just to be sure you should double check your entire friends list, how many friends did you have before this? and how many do you have now?. Please reply

Hey there SoaceBound,

It may be possible that they have changed their gamertag without you noticing.

Sometimes, it will show "XXX is Online" as their new gamertag, but when you open your friends list, it shows their old gamertag.

I haven't tried this yet, but whats the deal with all the achievements?

My friends feed is non-stop with achievement notifications whenever there's a live game!

I'm having this same issue, and it's really annoying. Deleting and blocking the gamer profile doesn't work, nor does doing a hard reset/full power cycle, nor does deleting your gamertag from your system and then signing back in. It has to be a Microsoft
issue. I am in the Preview Program, and "LostSoul 301281" isn't, so I guess it has nothing to do with that. Either way, I'm sick of getting these alerts for players I don't play with, and I wish I could stop it from happening.

By the way LostSoul, I agree with you about the friends system. I wish being friends was a mutual choice between both parties how it was years ago. I don't like the anybody can follow you without your approval. Maybe an option to allow that separately
if your a popular streamer and you want to allow followers, but not the same perks that come with being friends with another player. I wish Microsoft would fix this. We can't even get a hold of them to try anymore. Their customer service is super difficult
to reach at this point. So annoying when you pay $70 a year for their service and you can't even talk to somebody to get this fixed. They made it so hard to talk to a real person. You have to jump through too many hoops to figure it out.
