    Xbox not turning on


    Hey,

    I have troubleshooted my issue with my Xbox as it doesn’t turn on. The service is to exchange it for a new console. I have games downloaded on the current console both digitally and through disc. I was wondering what happens to all the data that is saved
    if I receive a new console. Will I have to restart all the games — e.g. I lose all my progress in Red Dead Redemption 2 and have to restart it all over again?

    Xbox turns on then turns off

    Hi TEEZYdennis,

    Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Xbox. Is it safe to assume it is an Xbox One?

    I suggest a reset of the console via the troubleshooting screen to get you back to a factory reset.

    To access the troubleshooting screen use these steps:

    1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
    2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    4. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press theXbox button on the console.
    5. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    From there you can reset your console.

    Sorry to hear you're having trouble turning on your Xbox One. Let's have you go through the No Power troubleshooting article if you haven't already. If that doesn't help,
    unfortunately you'll want to consider reaching out to the Online Service Center to explore having your console repaired or replaced. I know it's not ideal, but that is definitely not normal behavior for an
    Xbox One.

    It definitely sounds like it could be the Power Supply then. Like I said try to borrow a friends to see if the console works, and if it is the Power Supply I would strongly recommend buying an official one, an unofficial one may be cheap but it may also
    damage your console.
