Xbox not transmitting from my mic

It seems that my Series S is not picking up that I’m speaking into my mic. I have an official Xbox wireless headset and it was working fine yesterday, and it works fine connected to my phone through Bluetooth. I can even hear myself when I rub my finger over the mic. But today I can’t get my Xbox to recognize that I’m talking into my mic. When I’m in a party or on discord, I can’t get that circle to appear around my avatar that indicates when I’m talking. I’ve tried updating my headset, powering everything off, muting and unmuting my mic (at one point when I was doing that in a party it would sometimes tell me that I didn’t have a mic plugged in) I looked through all the audio settings and tried changing some of those settings, and I reset my settings for the headset. Another issue I noticed is that I can’t hear anyone talking in discord. I can hear everyone in a party though. I eventually connected the headset to my phone and connected to the discord channel on my phone and that worked perfectly.

TLDR My headset works fine on my phone and I can hear myself through my earphones but Xbox isn’t showing that I’m talking and its not transmitting my voice to my party.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might fix this?

I understand you need help with your audio problem.

Let's refresh the console's system cache and see if this will help.

NOTE: This will remove the profiles on your console, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

No data or game saves will be lost doing this, everything is backed up to the cloud servers.

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select Settings.

3. Select System.

4. Select Console info

5. Select Reset console.

6. Select Reset and keep my games & apps

This will also help sync the data on your console properly.

I have now exhausted those methods without anything new happening.

I was just now able to try a different console in that same spot, meaning i did a little swap and the new xbox is yielding the same results, much like jeffhardyfan52 had posted happened to them. So this tells me...it has to be the network?? Which blows my
mind because it has been working so well, so consistent for so long. Both xbox one consoles on the network have open NATs, and have had open NATs for years now. Neither has ever given a problem until it abruptly did.

So this appears to no longer belong on the "Accessories" forum.

almost 2 years no fix.... i found a rig with a 360 turtle beach hooked up to a 3.5 mm adapter, doesn't always work but sometimes its able to pick up my voice
