Xbox not showing up on PC monitor

i have an elgato HD60 external capture card and i have a hdmi from my xbox into the capture card then a hdmi out to my monitor , then theres a smaller cable which is connected to my pc. i have not had this problem before its just started

Hello bradley06, what kind of capture card is yours, it is external, because hdmi will always need power to transmit, it does not transmit only data.

If you can give more details of your Xbox connection to your capture card and PC.

Hello again Bradley, this does not seem to me that it is related to xbox or your PC, but rather to the capture card, try turning it off, check if on the manufacturer's website there is any firmware update for the capture card.

Do you know by any chance if the Monitor you are using supports HDCP protocol? If it does not the Xbox One will not output to it. The reason the Xbox 360 would display if the monitor lacks supports for this feature is that the Xbox 360 only turns it on while
playing protected content (Netflix or a DVD). On the Xbox One I believe it is always on.

That is my best guess as you said the Xbox One displays just fine on your TV.

HDCP is not always on, I have my capture card running 24/7 and haven't had any issues with HDCP while playing games, booting up the console, etc.

Your monitor and TV might have different display resolutions. Please do the following:

Your screen is blank after you power on the console

• Confirm that both your TV and Xbox One console are powered on.
• Check that your TV is set to the proper input signal (HDMI).
• Check that the HDMI cable connection to your console is secure.
• Check that the HDMI cable connection to your TV is secure.
• Perform a cold boot on your Xbox One console by holding the power button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds, and then power on again.
  
• Reset your display settings. Here's how:
  1. If there’s a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
  2. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.
     
  3. Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.
     
     Note This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset these settings again, press the Menu button, select Settings, and then select Display & sound.
