    Hello,

    As stated in the title, my xboxes can't see any of the files in my SeaGate external hard drive. The Xbox detects the drive and it says "Ready to Use," but the Media Player doesn't see any files or folders. This also occurs when using a different media player,
    such as VLC.

    This is occurring on both an Xbox One S and the standard Xbox One.

    The SeaGate is a 5TB external hard drive with USB 3.0. The hard drive itself has no issues with any other device, both Windows and Mac.

    Solutions I've tried:

    1. Resting the Xbox One to factory settings

    2. Plugging in the hard drive to different USB ports

    3. Repairing the drive with the Mac's disk utility tool (no option available since the drive works)

    4. Updating the Xboxes

    Tried it, didn't work. The storage options didn't have any grey areas, and I can't see why uninstalling unused devices from my PC would help my external hard drive work with my Xbox.

    1. Step 1: Click on Start > Type: devmgmt. msc and hit Enter.
    2. Step 2: Click View > Select Show hidden devices.
    3. Step 3:Expand all notes by clicking on the + (plus) symbol.
    4. Step 4:If there are any grayed-out entries, right-click on them and select Uninstall.
    5. Step 5:Reboot and try again.

    My friend had a similar problem and we found out that it had happened after the last update and we found out you could fix it by unplugging it and turning off the console and plugging it back in and then turning it back on we had to use a different USB
    port though it wouldn't work on the same one for some reason even though when we plugged different devices into the port and they worked fine

    Xbox won't configure my USB (has worked with xbox before)

    Have you tried to use a different USB Device in the same USB Port or tried the Seagate drive in another USB Port on the XBOX 360 to see if it picks it up? If another USB Device works in all the other USB Ports that means it's the Seagate drive that's causing
    the problem.
