Xbox not returning to home screen from game

Hitting the xbox button when playing a game always brought me back to the home screen. For some reason this is not happening for me anymore, at least not all the time. After waiting some time, it might work or it won't work at all. Anybody experiencing this
as well. Can I fix this somehow?

Hello. I definitely appreciate the help but i ended up sending my console in to get repaired and they sent me a brand new console. Unfortunately the problem still persists. I have no clue what to do. At this point ive tried everything...as far as i know.

Hello, hopefully someone can help me or maybe have experienced the same issue. So i use my Xbox quite a bit and i use the home button quite often. I use it quite a few times a day. Although, every now and then, maybe once or twice a day I experience a very
dramatic delay. At first when I push the home button the screen blinks as if it tried to go home but almost instantly returns me to what i was doing like it rejected itself from going home. Although everything still acts normal in the app, game, etc. If i
press home again, whatever im doing will freeze for about 10 seconds and then return home followed by a refresh sound and a reboot of the home page. Its been doing this for about one month now. I also recently upgraded to a Xbox slim. Hopefully someone can
help me with this issue. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

 

More than likely that is a Cache issue. Please try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. That should solve the problem for you.

I have exactly the same issue and clearing the cache is only a temporary fix. After a couple of days mine did it again. Apparently there is no current fix for this.

 

Ultimate Dazza - it doesn't happen to me nearly as often as it used to. Try heading to Settings>Blu Ray and make sure that Enable BD Live is unchecked and clear the Persistent Storage then run a power cycle and while the console is off unplug everything
from it and let it sit for 5 minutes. That may lessen the amount it happens for you.
