    So i have an Xbox one S. & for almost a year now i have a wireless Xbox X controller that has worked just fine. But today my Xbox stopped responding to it. I don’t think it’s an Xbox issue as my controller they came with the Xbox works just fine. But for my Xbox X controller none of buttons do anything. I haven’t dropped it recently. It just makes zero sense why the controller isn’t working. It’s still connected & the battery is full charged. Any tips? I don’t want a have to buy a new controller

    Hi DakotaCheyenne, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    Also, have you tried to connect the controller using wired connection?

    Does the Xbox One S console have Bluetooth Capability? I.E Bluetooth Headsets

    There is no Bluetooth radio component in the Xbox One S console itself.

    The controllers connect to the Xbox One S the same way the controllers connect to the original Xbox One: proprietary RF. You could technically connect an Xbox One S controller to an original Xbox One, and an original Xbox controller to the Xbox One S.

    The Bluetooth functionality in the new Xbox One S controller is specifically made for connecting the controller to a Windows 10 PC with the "Anniversary" update, which has the drivers needed for the controller when connected via Bluetooth.

    Thank you for your response.

    For us to further isolate the issue if the drift problem is on your console or for both controllers, kindly try a different Xbox controller apart from your original and Luna controllers on your Xbox One S console to see if it works normally.

    If you don't have another one, try to borrow a controller from a friend or from a family member.

    Xbox One S - a few steps forward but many backward (vs Xbox Elite)

    Xbox one s IS compatible with Xbox one elite controller so if you don't like the Xbox one s then use the elite controller.
