xbox not responding to anything :(

my xbox turns on and doesn't show on my display, doesnt connect to my controller, and after a minute it turns off on its own. ive tried going into troubleshoot but it won't let me because i dont hear the second beep. i turn it on, and after a minute it turns off . i use a hdmi to vga cord and its working, and so is my monitor. ive switched devices with the hdmi to vga cord and they work. this is so confusing. is there anything i'm missing??

well that solved the problem, this isnt gonna work either way because i cant get into troubleshoot, thank u all for ur help, i will keep looking for a usb and i'll see how it goes. have a great day!

If this persists, then it’s unfortunately a hardware fault and the only option would be to request a repair or replacement for your console, or perhaps upgrade to the Series X|S. As per the Forum Guidelines, we can’t advise self-repair here.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. I thought you were able to see the display and it was just slow, not a completely blank screen. So refer to the recommended troubleshooting in this guide:

^I notice that you’ve already tried a lot of these steps, but still including this here just in case and to verify everything is correct for reference.

If you can’t reach the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter screen, you unfortunately won’t be able to perform an offline system update on your console (even with a usb drive) especially if it powers off after one minute. This probably wouldn’t resolve the issue anyway, but it’s still something to consider if it’s a possible option.

What exact console do you have?

And do you have a TV or a monitor with an HDMI output port to test? If so, please try to connect your console HDMI - HDMI (not HDMI - VGA) to the TV or monitor and see how it goes.

well, i have a xbox one s

and an asus monitor, its an lcd monitor with only vga and dvi ports, so thats why i have a hdmi to vga cable
