xbox not registering my live status

The stupid thing is, is that I can play Battlefield online. It asks me to subscribe to Gold, just hit yes, it says you're already good to go and then away I can play. But nothing else works. Netflix, Ryse multiplayer, Party chat..nope

The same thing is happening to myself and a couple friends. I tried talking to a support person about 20 min ago. They told me to try a power cycle reset, that didn't work at all. Then of course, when I get back online to talk to them they're gone/won't
respond.

I've managed to register to Elite now through Xbox live and registered my founder status, seems servers are getting hammered though.

Infinity Ward have said demand for Elite has passed all expectations and the servers cant cope

No, sri... seriously. You need to have the account for your son registered already on the console. Also the console must be configured as home console for yourself. Log yourself in. Then you should be able to add him to the family.

Hello there. I'm new to Ambassadors, but I hope I can be of some help to you. First off, concerning being unable to download free games, I'm assuming you are referring to the free games being offered to Gold members such as Magic the Gathering 2013 and Rainbow
6 Vegas? If that is what you are referring to, the free games change ever so often, and once a new game is offered, the previous game is no longer free. For example, the last game offered was Magic The Gathering 2013. The last day to get it for free with your
Gold account was Sunday Sept. 15, 2013. As of today, Monday Sept. 16, 2013, the newly offered "Free with Gold" game is Rainbow 6 Vegas. So if you were trying to download games that have already been cycled out of the promotion that could be the problem. So
I would try downloading Rainbow 6 Vegas now and see if it is offered free. If you cannot download it, you will need further help on this topic.

Ok, as to your other issue, if I understand correctly you are saying that when you look at your account via Xbox Live Rewards (rewards.xbox.com), it is not showing you as having a Gold Membership? If that is the case, one thing to consider is if you have
recently redeemed a promotional membership to Xbox Live Gold. I know I ran into this as I was given a free month of XBox Live Gold via a promotion, and when my previous 3-Month subscription was nearly up, I entered the promotional code to get my free month.
When I noticed Xbox Live Rewards did not register my Gold Membership, I did some research. I found that in the FAQ section, it states this under the issue :

"Xbox Live Rewards can only recognize paid monthly or yearly standard, non-promotional Xbox Live Gold memberships. If you have a different type of membership, we may not be able to recognize you as an Xbox Live Rewards Gold member."

So to remedy this, I went ahead and purchased a new 3-Month Xbox Live Gold membership and entered the code for it. It did not undo the free promotional month I was using, but since it now shows I've renewed my membership beyond the promotional period the
Rewards site now shows me as a Xbox Live Gold Member in good standing.

So if you are using a promotional offer currently and you wish to still get credit via X-Box Live Rewards then you need to go ahead and renew your Gold subscription (either monthly, every 3 months or a 12 month membership) using the standard methods (purchasing
via a subscription card or renewing via XboxLive.com or from your Xbox 360 dash board). That should take care of the problem.
