Xbox not "recording that".

Okay so I only have two games for my Xbox one, battlefield 4 and hardline. My Xbox won't let me record anything for bf4 when in gameplay, and te few times it does it's only one second long. When I play hardline it'll record 30 seconds of gameplay just as
it should. All of the profiles on my Xbox are set to adult with no restrictions and it records fine on other games. But for some reason on bf4 it won't record for gameplay. For some reason though it will record loading screens, the menu and the pause menu
but will not record or even give me the option to record any gameplay. If anyone could help me with this it would be much appriciate.

Ps. I don't have a Kinect.

i to am having this issue there seems to be no fix at the moment. i've tried like 10 things to try to fix it i hope its not a hardware issue

Ok happened again tonight. Recorded 7 epic clips. Shows recorded in notifications but saying they are deleted or not there no more... one did save but was one I did earlier to see if its woking

Very un reliable. I see microsoft dont reply to many of these for some reason but anyone know what might be up with it?

No. It will not effect your saved data.

 

Doing a hard reset is easy and it doesn't clear anything but your cache, so you don't lose any saved data.

Hold your finger on the Xbox power button on the console for about 7 seconds... until the console powers down completely. Then just unplug it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and start it back up. It's the "go to first" solution for pretty much any problem
and it solves a lot of them.

 

Or you could just go to settings and select "Restart".

^I wasn't sure if that cleared the cache or not. Personally, when I do a hard reset as opposed to just restarting, I think it speeds things up for the UI a little bit more... could just be me... but I seem to notice a difference between the 2. I've also
had a hard reset fix things a simple restart has not.

 

^I've let it go where the X Box One is so bogged down and unresponsive and a restart clears it right up; believe it's why M.S. added it. Since the N.O.X.E. rolled out, I don't have to restart as often; used to be every couple weeks, now about every three
to a month. Of course, at least for me, it depends on how many different games/apps I use in a sitting.

Did have to do the power button trick a couple months ago. Noticed it was getting buggy and let it go until it wouldn't do anything...completely froze.

I spent 10 minutes working on the blimp achievement for Screamride today. I got it. I have Kinect and through voice commands I told it Xbox, Record That. A Dashboard message popped up in the top right corner "Xbox Record That". I got an achievement bubble
followed by a confirmation box in the bottom centre of the screen. I went to my DVR functions and it didn't record it. My console is up to date with the new update that was released earlier this month, already installed.

Luckily I was using my Hauppauge HD PVR2 to record it. It's now on my Youtube channel. Many people have PVR's to share Xbox stuff on Youtube. Last time I used the DVR on Xbox 1 was in November/December 2013 (because I didn't know how to turn it off until
a month or two after Xbox 1 came out). I was thinking about getting back into using the DVR feature, I even went to DVR settings and turned everything on. Well at least with my PVR it's more reliable and it records commentary game music game sound video footage
and voice chat with others in lobbies/parties/game chat and create longer than 1 minute videos which I see a lot of by people who use the DVR feature. But I totally don't mind and like how they've added the feature in especially if you don't have a PVR or
don't want to share to Youtube.

Is this a software glitch or hardware glitch? Xbox 1 has an 8 core AMD Jaguar APU processor and 8GB RAM. The more cores a processor has the better is should be with multi tasking, so 8 cores should be plenty. My version of hard reset would be pull the plug
or turn it off directly at the wall, then switch it on at the wall again. Maybe they should have made a better cache.

 

I've had my Xbox 360 slim console since I got Xbox late 2010, and have NEVER done a Clear System Cache on it and it still works fine. And that console has like an ancient Xenon something 3 core CPU and only 512MB RAM.
