Xbox not picking up mic

Hi,

Yesterday my microphone was working perfectly fine then it stopped working. I went out the following morning and picked up a brand new turtle beach headset. When I hooked it up it still wasn't working. I called xbox support and was connected with a very
nice agent. We went through all the steps and it still didn't work. She said it may be due to my previous ban back in june. She said some cases have been occurring where the ban will come back into effect months later. I was told that the forum moderators
may have a tool to fix this issue. We also used my brothers mic and controller on my xbox to see if that was a problem and it didn't work on my xbox but worked on his.

I hope you guys can help me.

Broken Xbox mics (can still hear others through headset but can't reply)

My xbox one mic have sound but my mic not picking up nothing that I said in a party!!

Headsets not picking up mic

Hello Brunette,

Go to Settings>All Settings>Kinect & Devices>Devices & Accessories and make sure that your controller is assigned to your profile.

Now do a power cycle (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and then try again to talk in parties.

Let us know how you get on. Hopefully this resolves it.

One of the problems could be the controller try using ur brothers or a spare controller u may have because there could be a problem with the controller there have been problems were people have been taking the adapter out and the prongs inside the controller
have been bending or braking another option is try cleaning the inside of the controller and the adapter using a cotton swob or ear swab. The other problem may be there might be an issue with the ban it may not have been progressed through and it might just
been taking a while if u have a pad with a 3.5mm adapter try using a pair of samsung earphones as for they work in the xbox controller and iphone ones do not.

No the headset picks up too much so if someone speaks on headset the mic will pick it up.

it picks up so much that it can pickup the air brushing across the mic when i turn

Sorry to hear about the issues with your headset!

To be sure, are you seeing the same issues with another headset and on other controllers?

If you test another console or another headset on your network do you see the exact same issue?

Also, is your console wired or wirelessly connected to your network?

Post back if you are still having issues and let us know how those tests go!
