Xbox not loading past Green Screen

We have not used the Xbox for several weeks. Yesterday we installed updates and tried to play a new game which would not play. We manually reset the console (several times) by holding the button for 10 seconds and then pressing the button. The green Xbox
screen appears and that is as far as the system will go. And then the screen will go black after a few minutes. The Microsoft account says all is "Normal." Looking for suggestions as to what to try next. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply! I recommend trying a
power cycle
(disconnect and re-connect power) of the console.

If the problem persists, try doing a
soft factory reset of the console,
Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

Try this out and let us know the results.

I can't seem to get past the green loading screen. have tried 5 hard resets; i also left the green screen on overnight hoping it would break through, am I SOL?

Hello everyone

Very frustrating, the app doesnt load past the green screen for me, the circles underneath the logo move indefinately and nothing loads up.

before this for around an hour it would not load up past the green xbox loading screen but now is stuck on the black screen after with the error code 0x80010119 showing

I got the same error code. In my case the solution was to just open the Xbox up and remove all the (tons of) dust that was inside.
