Xbox not hiding innapropriate content

I just purchased an XBox One S. I have two boys that play XBox, ages 9 and 6.

I properly setup my account as an adult. I create Live accounts for my two boys. I added them to my family.

I ran some tests on Age Appropriateness and unfortunately, the XBox One S did not pass these tests.

To test age appropriate behavior was working, I did the following:

Success

1. Switch profile to 9 year old's profile

2. Settings | All Settings | Account Restrictions and logged in with pin.

Result: Access to Content Appropriate to aget 10

Success

1. Switch profile to 6 year old's profile

2. Settings | All Settings | Account Restrictions and logged in with pin.

Result: Access to Content Appropriate to age 8.

Failure:

1. Sign as me, the adult.

2. Install a T for Teen game. I installed

3. Sign in as the 9 year old.

4. Go to Home | My Games & Apps | Games.

Result: The T for Teen game shows up in the list.

Expected Result: No games outside their age should show up.

Failure:

1. Sign in as the 9 year old.

2. Go to Store

3. Scroll down to the Browse Games option but don't click it.

Failure: All the games in the list to the right of the "Browse Games" option are rated M for Mature. Halo Wars 2, Skyrim, etc.

Success:

1. Sign in as the 9 year old.

2. Go to Store

3. Scroll down to the Browse Games option but don't click it.

4. Click on a game that is not age appropriate.

Success. It doesn't take them into the game.

I thought perhaps the tests were failing because even though I was my child's profile, my account was showing as signed in on the left. I signed out so only the 9 year old was signed in. Same results.

Failure to limit content for children is extremely critical. I expect engineering to be working on these bugs and have it resolved ASAP. Who ever is doing your software testing for age appropriateness needs to be reprimanded, unless they reported it and
it wasn't fixed, in which case the Dev manager should be reprimanded.

I will be blogging about this and I will be sharing this bug on Social Media. I may be returning the XBox One S and recommending all parents do the same on my blog and Social Media based on these failures.
