Xbox not functioning correctly

Having some issues with our Xbox One today. Loads up and when you get to the home screen either controller won't allow you to go right and stay on an option and the "A" button isn't working. So we can't login or turn off/restart the console. We're having
to do it manually by holding the button down.

Anyone got any ideas on what the hell is going on?

Tried two controllers and done that reset already. Im not sure what else to do 🤔

Turn off your console and use a play/charge uSB cable to connect your controller to your console. Turn on console.

If a Update your controller firmware screen appears, update.
If not follow the guide in the link.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't work and if possible try a different controller. The controller may be failing.
