Xbox not connecting to WiFi range extender

Have you tried both a wired and wireless connection to the network? To clarify, this error only occurs when connecting to your Wi-Fi extender and your console is able to connect to the router without problems? What’s the distance and range from the extender to your console?

In this case, your Xbox 360 console failed to pass the first step in the connection to your home network. This usually means that your network is not set up or configured on your console correctly (incorrect password is a possibility) so I’d suggest verifying all the network settings are correct.

Also, if possible, try connecting the console to another network - a mobile hotspot, perhaps? If you encounter the same error with another network, then there’s probably a hardware fault (most likely with the network card) on the console somewhere. If this is the case, the console would need to be repaired or replaced.

For further advice, may I know the exact model of your router and extension?

your laptop and cell phone have stronger reach for wifi. if it is the wifi extender that was out in 07, then it is either not strong enough range to reach your wifi, or their being just to many walls between your extender and the router. if you connect it
through Ethernet and still no connection then their could be an issue with the system itself

Id recommend getting a Cat 6 Ethernet cable and running a wired connection. It's a cheaper alternative to a wifi range extender. Monoprice usually has the best prices for cables.

That is happening to me as well. Did you find out how to fix it?

You can always purchase a wifi range extender they are very reasonably priced
