    Xbox not accurately tracking progression


    Okay so I'm returning again in hopes that somebody within the community might be able to shed some light on this

    Here's a little rundown of what's been going on

    I have completed Red dead Redemption 2 one of the stats is for 100% total completion, I completed that and it showed 100%, this was back in December of 2023

    I started a new game in January of 2024 and it started tracking the progression all over again from 0 to 100% only it stopped at 85%. I completed the game at least five times or more between January of 2024 and February of this year

    And at no point would the total completion move off of that 85% no matter how many times I made it to 100%. During that I had tried deleting the local save files and then re-syncing from the cloud which had no effect I then uninstalled and reinstalled Red dead Redemption 2 which also had no effect I then did a factory reset on my Xbox and reset everything back up which had no effect on the change of my total completion numbers.

    At that point I kind of given up I stopped trying I really didn't care too much about it anymore, but randomly last night as I was approaching 97% total completion for some reason I decided to delete the local save files and clear the cache, lo and behold the app and my console updated to show 96% total completion, I figured I had got past whatever it was that was holding the updates up.

    At that point I quickly rushed through to finish the game at 100% and wouldn't you know it my console and the app would not update and stayed at 96%. So I then cleared the local save files and resynced from the cloud which had no effect.

    I then cleared the cache and cleared the local save files again which also had no effect, I then did a factory reset on my Xbox I reinstalled Red dead Redemption 2 I loaded my game it pulled the save from the cloud and started to sync it went all the way to 99% the game started and neither my Xbox nor my app show the 100% total completion even though the game save file has 100% total completion and it's the only game save file and is stuck at 96 percent according to the Xbox and the app but in game and on the red dead redemption 2 app it shows 100 percent completed

    Where are you reading this information? How are the games being installed (disk/digital)?

    Games installations should be the same size by the end, assuming both Xboxes are doing fresh installs.

    Network statistic concerns. One with historical bandwidth usage and another with internet speed test.

    you would get better statistic tracking via your router, the xbox usage section is way off and sometimes shows TB instead of MB.

    I would not use the usage tracking on the xbox at all for accurate info.

    Yeah I did the restart on games that wouldn't take too much time, and it worked for those for me. The only games I have now with glitches achievements I still need are battlefield 4 (I might do that on this one too as it's only campaign achievements that
    didn't pop for me), trials fusion which I'm not restarting because I have worked so hard on those track challenges, and then titanfall and cod extinction, both of which like you said that trick wouldn't work for anyway. Here's to hoping that xbox can fix these
    things, that's the only way I'll be getting the rest of my locked achievements
