    Xbox new family


    My account is technically a child's account since im 17 now. When i made my account years ago and it asked for a parent's account my friend just put his in so he is the only one that can change my account settings. Well now a few years later i don't know
    him since I moved and i am unable to change my settings to allow me to purchase content on my new xbox one. My father tried making a separate account and add me to the family. The problem is he cant because i'm part of my old friend's family and i have no
    way of contacting him to take me off of his family. How to i get off of his family so my father can add me.

    Bit of good news,
    I have just been reading the new Xbox Mag that quote:
    'One Xbox Live Gold Account for the whole house, so no need for upgrading the whole family

    Nice touch and will save some family's money for all the kids to be able to go Multiplayer Xbox new family :)

    When do you think the next generation will be released?

    Currently the plan within Xbox is to release new console when technology reaches a new pinnacle. They felt with Scorpio this was a new point where they could offer native 4k gaming, and other features in a package that would bring premium gaming to your living room. To make this happen they are leveraging a family type setup when devices belong to a family and as long as your device is in the family it should function at varying degrees. The timeline that most of you are proposing is no longer the driving factor in determining a release of an updated Xbox One. This is only possible because the Xbox applications (UWP/ERA) are able to scale to different devices.

    Add a new member to your Xbox One family

    Overview

    Creating a “family” on Xbox One helps you manage privacy and online safety settings for children.

    Any adult in the family can add new members to the family. Adults and children in the family have different rights when it comes to managing the family. Learn more about who can manage the family.

    To add a family member, follow these steps:

    Note To add a new member to your family, you must be signed in to Xbox Live.

    1.Press the Menu button on your controller, go to Settings on your console, and then scroll right to the FAMILY section. Select Add to family.

    2.Choose who you want to add:

    a.If the person you want to add to the family already has an Xbox Live profile saved on the console, select that profile.

    b.The person must then sign in with the email address and password for their Microsoft account.

    c.Select Add to family again.

    d.You should now see the person added to the family.

    e.If the person you’re adding is a child, and you haven’t already associated their account with yours, you’ll need to provide parental consent in order to complete this process.

    f.If the person you want to add has an Xbox Live profile, but it’s not saved on the console, skip to step 3. If the person doesn’t have an Xbox Live profile, skip to step 4.

    3.If the person you want to add has an Xbox Live profile but has never saved the profile to this console, select Add new and have the person sign in by providing the Microsoft account and password associated with that profile.

    4.If the person doesn’t have an Xbox Live profile, click Add new and have the person create an Xbox Live profile. Then, go back to step 2a and complete the process.

    Note For information about how to create a new account and profile, see Manage your Microsoft account.

    When you return to Settings, you’ll see the new profile under Family.
