    I changed my Xbox name (not gamer tag) and so when I go into my profile it comes up with the new name but every time I log in it says “welcome (dead name)” and I don’t know how to change it.

    As XBF Ezra G said, underscores '_' are not allowed in Xbox gamertags, I had the same issue when I tried to make mine, but I decided against
    using a space.

    Hi Tango,

    Thanks for reaching out, unfortunately the user of underscores (_) are not permitted in Xbox GamerTags; alternatively, spaces are available for use in a GamerTag.

    but then why wouldnt they let me type in my own gamertag because it would just grey out if i did anything other than the 3 suggested names.
