    Xbox name not mine?


    Signed into Microsoft account to make a Xbox line account and the name shows up as CheekyErrmine3. I never make a Xbox Live account before and don't even own an Xbox yet. Was just trying to get the NFL on Windows 8 app from windows store to work and it sent
    me to the Xbox Live website and I signed in with my Microsoft account.

    Hi there,

    Are you looking to add your name so your console will say "Hi Joe" (for example) when you log in?

    If so, go to account.microsoft.com and select Edit Name (on the left).

    Let us know if that helps or not.

    You are given a random name when creating any xbox live account.

    If you already had an account that had never been online, its possible that the name you were using offline is already taken by someone else online.

    You would then be given another random name, which you can usually change for free.
