  1. Xbox mysteriously taking images from phone and putting them on TV screen

So this is the second time this has happened and my wife is not happy at all.

It has happened once on the xbox one, and once on the 360.

I leave my xbox on overnight most of the time so I can play when I wake up. I did not play this morning however and the tv was dimmed on the netflix app as that was what I was watching when I went to bed. After waking up, I went on my computer for a couple
hours then left the house for 30 minutes to get food. When I returned, the tv now displayed a photo that was taken of me and my niece yesterday. Nobody had touched the xbox. The image was never uploaded. I asked my wife if she had uploaded the images and she
said she had only uploaded one, and it was not the picture that was on the tv, she had deleted that one from her phone already.

This is the second time it has taken an image that has been deleted from her phone and shown it on my tv. It opens up the xbox video up and just displays the image.

Not gonna be able to keep my xbox around if it constantly freaks out the wife like this.... need some help

    :)

    Tv Settings

I'm just putting forward, that a true widescreen view of an image is 2:1 on a TV Screen... Seeing how, we don't have Panorama Screens of 3:1 etc..

This does sound like an issue.

However, the console is not self aware and cannot do these things by themselves. Perhaps there is someone in the house who is doing it or you have a relative or friend who has access that is doing it as a prank albeit not a very funny one.

For the time being I would recommend shutting down the console when you are not using it though as it was never made to be consistently on.

  4. I can honestly assure you that there was nothing being touched to bring this upon my screen.

My wife cannot move and look around in a 3d game at the same time, let alone go into an app on the xbox and upload a picture that was deleted from her phone.

I no longer leave it on, but still I'm confused as to why this has happened twice now. And it's only been with her phone. It's not like she has the xbox smartglass app or anything that would make any sense to me in anyway possible

What kind of phone does your wife have? Could it be that the photos are being auto-uploaded to OneDrive? Even if you delete them from the phone, they still remain on OneDrive. Perhaps the OneDrive app is opened on the console and it's cycling through
the photos that have been uploaded to it?

I don't know, just taking a stab in the dark on this one.

  6. I appreciate the try as I'm doing the same thing trying to figure out how this is happening.

My wife has a galaxy s3, and from what I know she has no idea what onedrive is, let alone has it set up on her phone. Do you have any idea how I'd check that, I cannot find it anywhere on the phone options or the photo options. I also know that I havent
ever used the onedrive on either of my xboxs so Im unsure on how it wouldve initiated in the first place.

Doesn't sound like it's OneDrive doing it then. I wonder if some app on the phone might be sending the photo to the console or TV using DLNA or PlayTo? But again, I really have no idea.

Literally just happened again for a third time.

I have yet to be around when the screen changes to the photo but this time I was upstairs with my wife as she was going through the pictures on her phone from yesterday. She uploaded and deleted some, after doing so I went to play xbox and sure enough there
is one of the deleted photos on the screen.

It seems to only happen when she both uploads and deletes pictures in a short period of time of one another.

Every time it has been a picture that was deleted from the phone and not uploaded to facebook.

She uses the basic picture app on the phone so there is no reason this should be happening....

  9. Is your TV a "smart tv"? Is it connected to your network? Seeing how it only happens when your wife is doing things with the phone and photos, perhaps she is accidentally pressing something without knowing what it is that she is doing. My wife is also
a bit challenged when it comes to smartphones and frequently presses all sorts of things that she doesn't know how she had pressed.

  10. No my tv is a crappy no-name brand 19 inch hd tv. Nothing special about it, and it did it on an older tv as well on my xbox one. Still baffled as to how this is happening...
