    Xbox Music Update to 2.6.666.0 Broke My Music Collection


    After my phone updated to this release my playlists were missing and various other songs were now missing from the songs menu. They were present on the phone but xbox could no longer see them. This was also true with various artists. Now my xbox music
    app no longer sync's my playlists from my xbox music account or any songs.

    Downloaded music does not get added to cloud collection

    Hi, I have two connected issues with xbox music. Resolution of the first will also remove the need for the second.



    First: when I download music to my phone from the store using my xbox music pass, the music is NOT added to my cloud collection. This means that when I log into my PC and open the music app using the same xbox music pass, none of the music I downloaded is
    in my collection. I would expect the songs to be added to my collection and ready to stream or download.



    Since the songs were not added to my collection, I downloaded them manually to my PC from my phone using the Windows Phone app. I expected to be able to import them to my music collection in the music app manually. The music files are all in my music library,
    but the music app is unable to open them and throws error 0xc1010091 when I try. I would expect the music to be auto-added to my collection since all of the files are in my music library and I am using the same xbox music pass on both devices.

    Xbox Music OneDrive music library.

    I've downloaded the update to Xbox Music on Xbox One that allows you to play music from a folder in OneDrive. I have copied some music to my OneDrive in a folder I titled "Music". No music however is showing up in the collection view in the Xbox Music app,
    it just gives a link with details on how to setup OneDrive music. I am using AAC files from iTunes and AAC is listed as a supported format. I'm not sure whats going wrong, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you for your reply. I have tried the phone both on my home network and my carriers with no difference. I created a playlist on my phone and it synced straight away to my cloud collection on the web. The playlists and music in the web is a mix of matched
    music and Xbox Music but neither are showing on the phone. I have not encountered the same problem with the music app on my PC (Windows 8.1) it is seeing my local music but nothing from the cloud. The only things that seem to be working are the web player
    and the app on my iPad, even my Xbox One has stopped updating my collection.

    I did not download my music from Xbox Music though I did sync my music library, which was on my PC, onto the Xbox Music app on my PC. The music collection comes from CDs I have ripped onto my PC and they all have an mp3 format.

    Sorry to bump an old thread, but this has been plaguing me forever and I think I figured it out. My collection is on a server and is added via my libraries. I too had the same duplicated structure which was causing duplicates in media library and making
    it impossible to manage music to my win 8 phone. So today I broke the link to my server in the library and instead pointed it to a local hard drive that was empty. In that hard drive, I dropped one artist with 4 albums. I then removed xbox music and re-installed
    it.

    After about 5 minutes, I looked at the nearly empty hard drive and all of my music was downloading. It is literally creating a local copy of my entire cloud collection. This would be awesome if I bought a new computer and wanted to move things over. However,
    if it's the computer I'm housing my collection on then it will always create a duplication.

    The setting that does stop it turning off "When I add or buy songs from Xbox Music on other devices, automatically download them here".

    I think the flaw in this is that I expect one machine to hold my collection and that single machine needs to download my new music added to my collection via phone or surface. However I do not want that machine to download all of my existing collection that
    is already there. Only the NEW music.

    Long story short: To fix your problem, either turn off that setting or synchronize your collection from an external hard drive and then remove that hard drive and point your music library to a new hard drive.
