Xbox Music Stopped Updating Music Collection Database

Discus and support Xbox Music Stopped Updating Music Collection Database in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Last successful update was 1/15/16. My PC is running Windows 8.1.     Xbox Music Stopped Updating Music Collection Database


    Last successful update was 1/15/16. My PC is running Windows 8.1. Is there a way to 'force' the collection to update? I've added dozens of songs since January.

    Why does my xbox music keep "Updating Collection" every time I start the app in my Windows 8 phone?

    Xbox Music App on Windows Phone 8 not seeing any of my cloud collection

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply. I have tried the phone both on my home network and my carriers with no difference. I created a playlist on my phone and it synced straight away to my cloud collection on the web. The playlists and music in the web is a mix of matched
    music and Xbox Music but neither are showing on the phone. I have not encountered the same problem with the music app on my PC (Windows 8.1) it is seeing my local music but nothing from the cloud. The only things that seem to be working are the web player
    and the app on my iPad, even my Xbox One has stopped updating my collection.

    The user who suggested uninstalling the Xbox Music app, rebooting, and then re-installing the app had the right idea. Seems the app database on my PC was corrupt.

    The user who suggested uninstalling the Xbox Music app, rebooting, and then re-installing the app had the right idea. Seems the app database on my PC was corrupt.

    Hello GenNuWine,



    The app would add those tracks to the Xbox Music folder to also make your music collection accessible in the Cloud. In the Xbox Music app, if you open the Charms Bar, click Settings>Preferences, you will see settings to customize "Music in the cloud" settings.
    Turning off those settings should stop the duplication of your collection in the Xbox Music folder.

    While Xbox Music might allow you to stream and download music, the music that is downloaded to your PC will stop playing should you decided to cancel your Xbox Music subscription. Eventually all music, even the songs that are still working for Dewbers will
    stop functioning if he downloaded them through the Music Pass system. MP3s purchased from Xbox Music will continue to function.
