Xbox music only plays 30 seconds on Xbox 360 but full songs on PC

On my Xbox 360, the Xbox Music app only plays 30 seconds of songs, but on my PC, the Xbox Music app plays full songs. Why can I play full songs on the PC but only 30 seconds on the Xbox?

Sorting Songs by Folder

Hi there!

I have about 50 thousand songs but not all of them are rightly named or do not contain "Artist" or "Album" gap filled.

When I'm using the PC I can easily find my songs because each song is in its Artist folder. (E.g.: RHCP has its own folder containing its albums but not all songs are with "album" or "artist" gap filled in. It makes the search on Xbox 360 Music Player way
harder or impossible to find a song sometimes).

The question is "IS THERE A WAY TO SEE THE MUSIC FOLDER ON XBOX 360 AS THE SAME WAY YOU SEE IN YOU PC?". I can't find about 15000 songs on XB Music Player and it's really annoying me. If I look for my songs with PS3 Media Server I can see them but this software
only plays Videos files : (

Smartglass and Music: SmartDJ?

That only plays the current SmartDJ song. That was my impression from the demos as well but it's falling pretty short of the promise if I can only play one song at a time from Win 8 Music -> Xbox 360 Music. Essentially useless.

Are you using Windows 8 and have a membership with Xbox Music? If you do not have a membership this will be the reason.

It is my understanding that Windows 8 allows streaming of music for free. But you still need to have a music pass to use it on the console.

Hi harrison10001,

Is it only songs purchased on iTunes that aren't playing? Are they songs you're trying to play on your Windows 8 PC through Xbox Music? Or is it on a device (mobile device, tablet, Xbox 360) that is synced to your PC that the songs will not play with.

Please let us know when you're able!

one of the gold membership features is that XBOX MUSIC is opend but I can't define how is it opened ,I thought that with gold we i can download and stream songs on my xbox but no and the songs i play is only 30 sec , I think I got tricked about xbox music

There is two ways you can stream content on your Xbox 360.

1) You need a Xbox Music Pass, in order to stream the music THAT is only available on Xbox Music Store and Any Music that MATCHES in your playlists. Otherwise it will ignore that song.

2) Otherwise if you use File Explorer in desktop environment, Right click a song or selected songs and you should see a option "Play To" which allows play any songs from your computer and straight to your Xbox 360.(It can be DRM-based or free of it).
