Xbox Music On Xbox One

So, I'm on the web and I see I can listen for free, I'm looking for things on there now, and it's surprising what I could fine, some of the harder to find heavy stuff that I have on vinyl but no CD, alls good, I like it, so I boot up the One, install the
app and start messing, then I get the warning, only 5 plays left, start free trial,

Is this right, I can listen to what I want on the web browser for free, for NOTHING, but on the Xbox One where I pay for gold I need the pass ?

Xbox Music Pass, are you kidding me?

What a joke this is.

With no way to easily play your own music, Youtube being terrible on Xbox One and Xbox Music requiring a paid subscription, there is literally no way to play music while playing a game without having another device on to play it.

Considering Xbox 360 had Last FM, a mostly free, better version of what Xbox Music is, I find it insulting that Xbox One has only one Music App that requires payment on top of what I'm already paying for Xbox Live.

My music pass has run out why cant i listen to my music i bought on xbox 360 on my xbox one i pay for the songs why do i need music pass .and why bring out xbox one so early and all the games so late

I know that the Xbox One can't read CDs at all (which is understandble because they've been replaced by streaming / digital downloads), but can it play music from my MP3 player if I plug it in via USB?

The X1 can play CD's, just not rip them like on the 360.

 

Hi Lei Fang, I don't think the Xbox One has MP3 support at all, another reason I'm happy I kept my Xbox 360.

 

The Xbox One can definitely play CDs; just yesterday, I noticed an update for the CD player app and put in Beethoven to try it out. It worked great!

@Tedi, hey I Sub to the Music Pass so I figured I would jump in here.

So I'm not so sure about use on different devices other than my box and iPhone. But from what I understand from a friend who was looking into buying the pass he first tested the app to see what kind of free it really was. He did end up saying something like
you can only listen to so much music or you can only skip so many tracks before you are forced to listen to what Evers playing.

I know a lot of people look at CD's as.....er.....antique, but the one thing I want more than anything on the X1 is the ability to rip CD's. I love having My music all on My 360 and want nothing more than to have MY music on the X1. I have close to 2 decades
worth of CD's...... This is why I will never pay for a music service on the X1.

 

That chart's funny - I don't recall being able to listen to my music offline, even with the subscription I used to have...

I would also like to rip my music CDs into my Xbox One like I can into my Xbox 360. But realistically (from a business point of view), an app that will allow users to rip their music CDs probably won't happend at all.

Honestly, I would be very surprised if an update will allow users to play songs with their MP3 players, etc... will be released in the future.

I really hope that I'm wrong on this assesment and that we will be able to at least play songs from our portable devices.

I have a lot of music CDs and there is no way that I'm going to subscribe to a service just to listen to my songs.

With that being said, I would rather invest in a MP3 Player, etc... Dock Speaker System and play my music from there because it would be cheaper than paying for a subscription

@GG, you can listen offline by creating playlists and downloading them to your device for offline use. The hardest part is making the playlist. Downloading for offline use is as simple as sliding a button from one side to another. This button is located
around the top of the playlist.

@Lei Fang, listening from mobile devices is already supported. Go to your local App Store.. Lol and download "Xbox Music App" for Free then just sign in and start
Listening.
