Xbox Music app stops or stutters on songs, requires reboot

I've been finding it Xbox music has been stuttering for a second as it nears the end of a song when I play a playlist. Happens nearly every song. This is when streaming my own music from OneDrive over a very good internet connection.

The whole xbox music system has been wonky for a few days, so I'm hoping it will all be fixed soon (ie songs are missing from albums in the catalogue, but then still stream okay when they appear in old playlists, even though they apparently don't exist).

For external devices with music you can use this app "Simple Background Music Player", with this app you can listen your songs direct from any external device without need to use groove music app.

On this app you only need to create a folder called "Xbox Music Library" on the usb drive and put all songs you want on that folder, then connect the usb drive to an xbox one usb and run this app.

Groove Music only works with OneDrive.

The problem lies in the fact that the Xbox Music App creates it's own Music Folder and structure within that folder. So if it can't find certain tracks in that folder it will redownload them. Completely dumb and the fact that they have it implemented that
way in 2013 is beyond me. The settings are a joke. Give us the option to direct the app to our 'Music' folder and if the songs are located anywhere within that, not to download them again. Pretty simple, but I guess not for Microsoft.

I was finally able to stop this by turning off all the syncing and downloading options (yay for losing features), selecting all the songs in Xbox Music and then deleting. I then had to restore all the tracks in my recycle bin that this deleted (yes Xbox
Music kept trying to redownload DRM free songs that I purchased elsewhere). Restarted the program after and the app had to relocate everything, but now it isn't trying to redownload half my collection. What a cluster.
