    Xbox Music App Doesn't Keep Track Between Sessions


    I have some long tracks (CD-length) in my music collection, and I notice that when I pause in the middle of the track and come back later, the app doesn't preserve the location in the track where the song was paused. If the app is still in my recent app
    history, I can pull it back up by long-holding on the left arrow and selecting the Xbox Music app from there, but if I've switched between too many apps, I have to start over at the beginning of the track every time.

    It seems like staying paused by storing off the location somewhere in non-volatile memory would be a good idea... and is likely a show-stopper for anyone listening to audiobooks, for example.

    How to play tracks purchased on Phone on XBOX

    Hi,



    I purchased few tracks from my Phone (Lumia 920) through XBOX Music service. The tracks show up on my PCs but they do not show up under My Music in XBOX Music App in XBOX. I have Gold membership, but do not have XBOX music pass. However these tracks are
    purchased. How do I get them on my XBOX?

    Playing a XBOX Music Store Playlist on Windows 8/RT

    I must be missing something.

    On the XBOX Music App on Windows RT, under "All Music" from the xbox music store it shows a couple of store based playlists. For example "Who's Next".

    When I select a playlist there doesn't seem to be any way to play it. It shows a random album cover that seems to be unrelated. If you click on any of the tracks XBOX Music will show the album that the track belongs to.

    Is this by design or am I missing a secret gesture.

    To see the visualization, you need to go into the music app itself.

    Go to the music page on the dash, select my apps and then select system music player. After that you should be able to press the Y button and jump directly to the now playing list. You will see the track list on the right, the left side will have the current
    track info and the visuals will be on the bottom left. This is were you can scroll between them and make it fullscreen too.

    Xbox's background music update is the biggest joke. Such garbage. The native media player doesn't even support background music. The simple background music player app is garbage too. There is no repeat or Shuffle track option. That completely ruins the
    cutscenes and gameplay experience. I have to keep opening the app back up to repeat a track I like during a cutscene. The volume changer increments are way too drastic. If I ever need to lower or higher the volume it's either way too loud or way too low. There
    aren't enough increments in the volume changer bar. I'm always having to adjust the volume myself while playing a game or specifically during a cutscene. The groove music app with the OneDrive music storage option would be decent if it actually let us play
    music in the background already. We're still waiting for them to update the *** thing but it's taking them so long. This is one of the worst updates I have ever scene. PS4 has a far superior background music system implemented. Xbox you need to pick it up.

    Well, might be the link between Music and OneDrive. When i access the Musicfiles via the Onedrive app on My Phone the tracks play, just no playlists (since im just accessing files via Onedrive) and such but Onedrive Is up and running.

    I have the same issue and tried downloading one track directly to the phone (wifi). This allowed tracks downloaded via Xbox Music App and transferred to phone via Windows 8 app to play. Windows 8 app apparently does not transfer DRM to the phone on it's
    own. I agree, it is a TERRIBLE music transfer app. WMP would be fine, but WMP cannot see Xbox Music "rental" content---only content downloaded using Zune software. This is a problem.
