Really worried about the business strategy of the XB1. And I love Xbox. But this is a disgrace.

People will stop buying your games and console as nobody likes to pay for a full priced game and then seeing the company asking them for more money, hiding things behind a paywall.

The generation is here to be won or lost, and you are on shaky footing.

I love the launch games, and have not spend a cent on microtransactions, but this is BAD FAITH.

Microtransaction exist on other platforms, also how do you expect developers too make money? They scrapped the fee we used to pay to play second hand games online, did you think developers would not find another way too fleece us for every penny?

 

Nobody are old enough to know (or remember) how it was during the arcade games era... a coin = less than 5 minutes to play....The microtransactions of the 80's.....

 

and how is this Microsoft? it's up to the individual developers how they want to monetize their games.

 

just do like im doing with elder scrolls online..pay retail price for a subscription game? no thanks, wont touch it with someone else's money even, wont support greed.

 

I don't mind it. It's good to have options. Like it or not, the very nature of the video game industry is to get as much money as possible out of the customer. You can always choose to not go that route... and... if enough people agree with you, eventually
the business practice will come to an end. Having said that, with it apparently increasing to more and more games, I'd say the gamers prefer it, since it is happening in so many games. So, in essence, you can blame MS/game devs all you want, but it's the
gamers who are the ones paying/buying it.

Yep. Publishers and most developers are about making a profit and micro-transactions offer that little bit more money.

 

I don't support that practice. A lot of people that supported the online passes with the i support the devs no matter if they squeeze my pockets are the same that find this practice okay. i guess so.

The only way to stop this ridiculous schemes is talking with your wallet. The online pass passed to history now is time to do the same with Season Passes and MT in games.

 

Close your wallets and tell MS and the devs that micro transactions are NOT ok

 

I personally have nothing against micro transactions. Pick and choose your gaming I guess.

 

As mentioned before, it's the game developers that implement the micro trans. Not the console manufacturer. So you will see this in both Xbox and PS systems. Stop blaming the ones who are not at fault.

I have no problems with micro transactions as long as it's done right, meaning it doesn't hinder og ruin your game experience if you don't buy the extras.

And lastly, the reason micro transactions is getting more and more common is simple, it makes alot of money. And game developing is a business. A business of making money.

Just look at app markets, the most money is not made by selling the game, but micro trans and ads.

It's lucrative, plain and simple.

But the moment the developers hinder or ruin a game by having you spend money on it, THEN we need to take a big stand. But having new skins, new clothing etc..basically unimportant things in a game, as micro trans, i don't see as a problem. It's your money
and your choice then.
