    Xbox Microsoft theft

I have had an xbox 360 for 3 years. Bought 12 month subscriptions every time. Found out recently been charged for a year for a xbox music pass which apparently auto signs itself up for one month memberships after you install the free trial and it runs
out. ( which is the most expensive way to do it convienently). I do not use this xbox music thing. I only use the console to game. When I'm back home from work That's 120$ that I feel I have been robbed of that they set up particularly to make a little extra
money on some poor sap. Also last time my gold membership expired it was renewed on a monthly basis instead of a annual basis. That was in March. Now it's January. That's another 100$ in monthly membership fee's when it should only have been 60$. I spent 3
hours today on chat with they're support team and eventually just got a phone number and talked in person. 5 different representatives and finally talking with a supervisor I got the same response. They're policy was a one month refund ( = 10$ (but the First
Lady had given me 30$ back already which they all early said she wasn't allowed to do but couldn't change it now. )). And for my gold membership which was incorrectly on a monthly membership they refused to correct and set so I would have the remaining 2 months
and refund the 40$ So far I have been charged 220$. Plus interest on the credit card that was maxed out in the process. they couldn't work on the account while it was inactive. ( because the monthly charges couldn't be processed yesterday) they used my friends
credit card which was attached to my account to charge a 10.00 monthly fee to re- activate my account. They mistakenly charged it a full years subscription and had a hassle removing that charge right than. Bottom line from they're supervisor was they'r policy
says they do one refund a year and the First Lady had processed the 30$ refund so they weren't allowed to do more. But even if they could they wouldn't. They have the money already. She was willing to setup a full year subscription right now at full price.
If I didn't like that option I could go to the bank and attempt to claim fraud. Oh and I also had two days of gold membership but because they processeced and cancelled the incorrect year membership they charged my roommate so I lost those two days as well.
No compensation. So now I'm out 220$. Lost two days of gaming and they tell me to suck it up princess and give me more money. I had a xbox one on its way as a Christmas bonus. Just called and ordered a ps4. I told them I wasn't going to get a xbox if this
was they're support and appreciation to they clientele when it comes the the money department. They don't care. I would have gone somewhere else or talked to someone else but this was the top of the food chain as I could go apparently. If anyone has any suggestions.
Or did you have a similar experience? Or a better support link? Very frustrated

    :)

Sorry you ran into these problems. However, when you purchase a membership online or even the music pass trial it is explicitly stated that the service will auto renew unless you turn it off.

Also, MS does not usually grant refunds on purchases. However, there is nothing anyone here can do to help you with this. You would need to continue your phone conversations with Billing Support.

I was kind of hoping there was another line to go about this. I am not going to continue to phone and argue. She said there was no way the division was going to compensate me. Not even in Microsoft points instead of money back. At least that way I would
have some sort of value to my money. If this is all there is and it's not going anywhere I will just happily swap to a sony console just glad I haven't received my xbox one yet

  6. Swap away then, as onyx62is has said all trial offers state they will enter an auto-renewal cycle after the trial is up.

This isn't just a Microsoft policy but a standard one that spans companies across the globe. The logic behind it is that if you don't cancel the service then you must enjoy the service and want to keep using it and thusly have to keep paying for it. Microsoft
also has a strict non-refund policy.

Frankly, this is your fault as you did not read everything you were supposed to before accepting the trial. Microsoft is not responsible for the laziness of it's end-users and should not be held culpable.

    Have a good day.

    P.S.

Sony's services work in the exact same manner.
