    Xbox microphone problem.


    I recently bought a webcam that comes with a built-in microphone, I recently bought a webcam that comes with a built-in microphone, but I was wearing my headphones with a microphone. The problem is that the console decides to use the one for the webcam before the one I want to use, which is the one for my headphones. There is no way to decide yourself?

    Try turning the volume on your microphone down. That sometimes fixes that problem. The xbox microphones will sometimes pick up feedback though

    Xbox microphone problem.

    As long as this is the problem, you can just try syncing the headset first until you make sure the Xbox uses the headphones mic, then you can activate the webcam!

    I'm sorry to see any microphone issues with your controller! Have you tried the headsets/phones on the other controller with no issue? If you have, then it will be the controller. Ensure that the older

    controller is updated
    with the adapter plugged into it; it's likely that the age of the controller just means it needs to be updated and should work going forward.

    However, if that doesn't work, then you will need to buy a replacement controller.

    If the headsets don't work on either controller, the real test at that point would be trying another console if possible. This will rule out basically every device connected if it's the console doing this.

    The problem still occurs on my normal Windows 10 account.

    It seems that you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps to isolate the main issue. The issue happens to your old account and new account, so basically this is is not an issue with the account. This could be a problem with the device or microphone
    itself. For us to make sure of it, we suggest that you try using your microphone on a different PC using the same account. You can also try using a different microphone to the same PC you're using right now. This will help us identify if the problem is your
    PC or the microphone.

    Update us with the results for further assistance.

    Ok, so I signed into the Xbox App on a different PC with my Microsoft account and tried to use my microphone, but it did not work. I noticed that it gave me more sample rate options on the other PC, though, I'm not sure why. I also tried a different microphone
    on my PC, which worked and did not give me any errors. I would like to say though that the microphone that is giving me the error works in all communication apps except for the Xbox App.

    Thank you for that information. It only means that there's no problem with your account and Xbox app. Other microphone works fine on your Xbox app, so basically it could be a compatibility issue with your microphone. We would like
    to know which type of microphone are you using. Also, is this first time that you're going to use that microphone on your device to access Xbox app?

    I'm using a headset microphone by Steelseries, called Siberia 350. Also I believe I have used the Xbox App with this microphone in the past and had no issues, but I'm not completely sure on that, it may have been a different microphone.
    Based on the error message that you received and the result of our troubleshooting, it only shows that the problem is the compatibility of your microphone. Since other microphone works fine on your Xbox app, we can confirm that there's no issue with the
    app itself. In this case, it would be best if you contact the manufacturer of your microphone for them to help you sort this out right away.
