  1. Xbox Microphone issues when streaming

Just to lay out the conditions

I stream using Elgato HD60, as well as using OBS to capture/stream and use audio. I also have a microphone/sound board connected to my computer to capture and stream MY voice.

Previously it used to be that i could just hook up my headsets to use in party chat and game sound (of course it comes thru on OBS). Now after an update it changed a lot of settings where i can
capture the game audio coming in but no
    chat.

Let me explain that when i stream on the Ps4 (same setup) i have to change the audio settings in elgato from HDMI to analog while using a analog cable to hook up to the controller.

With the update that changed a lot of the audio settings in Xbox i am forced to do the same as i do with Ps4. This was a minor fix as everything comes in fine except an annoying echo can be heard constantly by all members in the party chat.

So i am wondering if there is a way to avoid using the analog chat cable so i can go back to just
plugging in my headset and being able to capture both game and chat audio. And or if there are specific settings that i have to change in order to achieve the same kind of audio quality as before ie. change some settings in the new Windows Sonic setting.
I should also point out that the mic monitoring function no longer works when changing the settings via sliders.-

    :)

Bug: Microphone doesn't work after disconnecting Windows 10 streaming

    Thank you Bestlano!

Another issue I'm running into with the headset adapter + windows 10 streaming:

I docked my surface pro 2 into the docking station, which has a wired PC microphone plugged in. When I start playing (Rainbow Six Siege), the game audio is coming through my headset adapter (via the Xbos Stereo Headset), but the Windows 10 Xbox app is utilizing
my wired PC microphone instead of the Stereo Headset/Headset Adapter. I can't figure out a way to force the streaming app to use the microphone plugged into my controller...

(not sure if I should document this issue in another thread)

It seems there may be some minor issues between the Windows 10 Xbox streaming application when used with the Xbox Headset Adapter.

Bug: Microphone doesn't work after disconnecting Windows 10 streaming

Update: Regarding issue #2 (Headaet adapter issues while connecting Xbox One controller to Windows 10 PC for streaming)

    I discovered that:

    1) The headset adapter is just treated like an additional headphone and microphone under the Windows audio settings.

    2) To select which microphone to use (e.g. PC mic or microphone attached to Headset Adapter), set the desired microphone as your default device by right clicking volume/speaker icon at the bottom right of the taskbar and click "Recording devices."

    3) Odd behavior or malfunctions (e.g. headet microphone not working when streaming to Wkndows 10) may occur when there are too many USB plugged into the computer, causing insufficient USB controller resources.

When I plugged the Xbox One controller directly into my Surface Pro 2, the microphone automatically worked fine. When I docked my Surface Pro 2 into its docking station and plugged the Xbox One controller into the docking station's USB port, my headset adapter/Stereo
Headset's microphone was recognized, but the decibel meter would not detect any sound when spoken into. Occasionally, I would receive a "insufficient USB controller resources" error. This could also be an issue related to connecting the Xbox One controller
    to a USB hub.

Regarding issue #1 (headset adapter/stereo headset's microphone not working on Xbox One after disconnecting from streaming), I will see if I experience it again to isolate the issue.

    Xbox Microphone issues when streaming

    Hey there Stanley!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. Is the update you're referring to an Xbox update or an update to the Elgato software? We would recommend reaching out to Elgato and speaking to them regarding their compatibility with capturing audio and game chat. It sounds
as if there is a way to do what you want however you're looking for an alternate method and they would be the ones you'd want to check with.

    Thanks for understanding!

Using microphone with Xbox one s

No, there is no Microphone you can use on the Xbox One. If you want to use it for broadcasting or Streaming, then you have to use a PC to stream, as that is the only way to use a microphone to stream or broadcast your games.

Mic not working in the xbox app and in party chat while streaming

What specifically doesn't work? The stream audio or the party audio?
Was that not covered in the OPs post?

"I'm unable to use the microphone on my Steelseries when coneected to my PC using a Remote Streaming session"

"just not when joining a party during a stream."

Seems to me that the OP is playing using the Remote Play function but the Microphone doesn't work when in a party chat whilst using the Remote Play. the Mic works fine when directly connected to the Xbox or used via the Xbox App
