    Xbox Mic Without headset OR earbuds?!


    Is there ANY microphone I can plug into my daughters controller or xbox console, that is JUST the microphone? I do not want any sort of head piece or speaker with it, just the mic. She dislikes having things on her ears, and especially dislikes earbuds that
    go in the ear.

    I have been searching for months to find her a product that is just a microphone compatible with the xbox, and I just have had no luck. (Ideally, i’d love something like the xbox controller chatpads, but obviously a mic, not a keyboard.)

    If anyone knows of any products anywhere close to this, please drop a link for me. I sincerely appreciate it!

    Side note: She’s young so she and her friends are not particularly concerned with background noise.

    Wireless headset

    The only wireless headphones/earbuds that are compatible with Xbox machines are ones with built-in compatibility. If you have wired earbuds, those can work. I've used cheap $20 skullcandies without any issues, with the mic working nicely as well.

    My main headset is a turtle beach recon 50x stereo headset, I also have some Samsung earbuds and another offbrand set of earbuds. The TB headset and Samsung earbuds both used to work fine, but the new offbrand earbuds were purchased after the issue began
    and have not worked. I also have tested all 3 on a PC with no issues, but do not have another Xbox to test them on.

    Let's have you take those headsets to a friend's house or local game store for testing in this case.

    Anything witha 3.5” jack should work. You may need an adapter for 3 poles from a generic mic (left/right headphones and mic) but thats just a couple bucks.

    If your earbuds come with a mic it should work, you need to update your controller with the adapter and the headset plugged in first to get it to work though
