    Xbox Mic registers on other profile


    I have 2 controllers playing splitscreen on Gears 4. When my wife signs in first with the controller that has a 3.5mm jack and headphones with a mic, we have issues. When i sign in after her on my controller with no 3.5mm but an Afterglow wireless headset,
    our microphones register on opposite controllers. When she speaks, the Mic icon shows up next to my name. When i speak it shows next to hers. We’ve assigned controllers to the correct profiles, and assigned my headset to my profile. But still if she signs
    in first my mic registers as her talking and her mic registers as me talking. Whats the fix if any, besides me signing in first?

    Yeah cheers tried that still no joy, it registers the words on the screen but I think the mic is knackered , I've got another mic thats working so no duets in my house!

    Hi,

    Posting as 2 of my Xbox One controllers are picking up a mic which I do not have plugged in, they work fine etc. when the mic is plugged in and I have no issues, but when the mic is disconnected it still registers that I have a headset plugged in.

    Do you know of nay reasons why this would happen with both a controller bought with the Xbox itself and a controller bought separately?

    Please try these links i am sure they will help. Sorry you are having such an issue its not uncommon so be patient.N What type of headset do you have? Is it wired or wireless possibly.

    Connection issues and mic not working randomly after using Gamebar.

    One other thing to note is that my Xbox wont pic up my headset's mic / audio what so ever, so even if I'm in a party by my self, It's not registering me as speaking.

    Mic not working in Fortnite - Xbox one.

    This same issue has been ongoing for months. My son can hear his friends but his mic doesnt work.

    The “fix” where you turn off the mic and push to talk in fortnite settings would occasionaly work bit now doesnt.

    all other games and apps work with the mic.

    The problem persists on another xbox signed in with his profile, using a different headset, so this is not a hardware issue.

    other profiles on his xbox have no issues with sound/mic

    this is an issue effecting certian profiles accross fortnite only party chat, xbox party chat works fine, which cant be used for crossplatform party play.
