    Xbox mic issues, please help!


    So, I see this is an ongoing issue. I bought a pair of Astro a40's with the m80 Xbox one piece of eBay. When I got them I update my controller without them plugged in. I could hear everything great but no chat. So, I figured the piece didn't work but it
    could be my controller. Bought a brand new controller with the 3.5mm jack, which doesn't work by the way (the jack). Stil nothing. So I bought a xbox one stereo adapter new and it wouldn't work with any headset or controller I own. So I bought the adapter
    to go with their adapter and still not a thing. Now nothing works. The chat mic works sporadically but when it does work it's wi unbearable static (that i can't hear). Please help, I only play games that are strategic with friends.

    Need help finding a true universal wireless over the ear headset

    Hi all,
    I need help with finding a universal wireless over the ear (around the ear) gaming headset that must work with PC, Xbox one, and PS4, and must be over the ear!
    I know some headsets like Astro A50 are so called wireless, but when it comes to the Xbox one, you have to wire it to the controller for the mic to work.
    So please help me to find a true universal wireless headset.
    Price: the lower, the better!

    Hi there, thanks for the informative reply!

    I had not tried these steps yet, so I was hopeful. But after going through everything step-by-step, still no luck. The only direction I couldn't follow was uninstalling Game Bar, as the "Uninstall" button was greyed out, so I guess it's permanently on my PC. I'm wondering if this method would have worked if I could have uninstalled Game Bar.

    If you know of another way to remove Game Bar or any other suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

    Dang, that's really my only remaining option? Seems like a huge ordeal for my mic simply not working with Xbox. What if that doesn't work? Am I just screwed?

    Hi there Neomorph welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Have you tried reinstalling your audio input drivers?

    Here’s how to reinstall audio input drivers in Windows 10:

    Right-click Start and open Device Manager.

    Expand the Audio inputs and outputs section.

    Right-click on every entry, respectively, and uninstall the device.

    Reboot your PC and make sure the mic is plugged in.

    Wait until the driver is installed and give the Xbox app another try.
