I'm sorry to hear that is happening.

In this case, it seems like the issue may be with the 3.5mm jack on the wireless controller. I would highly recommend to try a different controller with the headset to fully narrow down that it would be an issue with the controller's audio jack.

If the console was just purchased in June 2018, I would suggest to
register the device online to view the warranty details on it. If in warranty it may cover to get your controller repaired or exchanged.

Have you updated your controller’s software?Or
by any chance have you been able to go over the console's settings to make sure nothing was accidently changed or have you used any different headsets or controllers? Also, have you attempted to go over our troubleshooting article ? I recommend to go over

Do your headsets plug into the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the controller? Have you by any chance tried plugging in other types of headphones, like earbuds that have a mic for example?

Also, I suggest testing the headsets on a device like a mobile phone and then make a call to see if you can hear and also others can hear you.

Also when the headsets are plugged in can you hear the game audio of the game you are playing or is it just related to chatting with others in the party chats?

Do you by any chance have other controllers to test the headset out on?

When you said you tried a complete console reset, are you referring to a
Soft Factory Reset?

The headset connects to wireless controller via 3.5mm jack.

This is the 3rd headset we have tried including one that connects to xbox console itself, none are now working with it.

The headset works on mobile phone to call and chat with no problems.

When plugged in to xbox we hear nothing through the headset at all and nobody hears us, the sound continues to come via tv.

I have no other controllers to try but have done a controller update factory reset on this one plus the reset of console (keeping apps and games)
