    Hello, I recently bought a Xbox one stereo mic, I plugged it into my controller and then proceeded to update the firmware of the controller with the adapter for the mic plugged in and it seems that the adaptor doesn’t want to turn on. I then proceeded
    to plug the adapter into my other controller that has a few broken buttons then updated it on that controller and it wants to work with that controller, but I want it to work for my functional controller, any help?

    (Edit) yes its plugged in all the way and i did blow air to clear any dust

    All you need is a $5 omtp to ctia adapter on ebay. I have the beats studios and the mic was not working bought this adapter and inline mic now works with the xbox one adapter!

    If you use the adapter from xbox you will not be able to have mic monitoring. you can buy an adapter from turtle beach that allows mic monitoring. Xbox is being really dumb not letting people use mic monitoring with the xbox adapters

    I heard it would work if I connect the mic to xbox via usb, and connect the mic to the 3.5mm adapter jack that goes to mic jack and headset jack. And connect that adapter to my controller. Idk if that is true though

    Hi Anna!

    Do you use an adapter for your mic plugin? Or is it a wireless/bluetooth mic? If it's wired and you use the Xbox brand adapter, you may just have a bad adapter, or the small cable that comes with it may be bad. I've went through about 5 of the adapters from
    Xbox myself because of this exact issue, and for me it was always the small wire that comes with the adapter.

    I bought both a standard mic, as a replacement, and a mic adapter, to use with my Beats 2 headphones. Neither are working (standard mic before and after controller update as a result of the mic adapter) on two separate controllers.
