Xbox messages not working

For some reason my main account isn't receiving messages, I can send the messages to my friends and they can send me messages, but I don't receive then although if I open the text chat the messages will load but if I leave it doesn't update, the last time my messages updated was on Tuesday since then it seems to be frozen, and since the messages don't update I can't start new chats with other people, if I try to clear the chat and start a new one nothing happens, if I clear it and go back to text messages it is there like it was never cleared. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm not sure if this is the right section but I'll place it in here.

Note: if I switch accounts the text messages work as intended but as soon as I enter my main it stops working.

1. Which specific error code and message do you receive when trying to send a message?:

2. Does similar issues occur within the Xbox app? (If you can, please try messaging on the Xbox app on Windows 10, Windows Phone 10, iOS, or Android):

3. Does similar errors occur on Xbox.com? If you haven't already, please try messaging from there as well:

4. Have you followed each of the steps on our Xbox Live Message Error Solution, including adding a phone number?

That's odd, last step is performing an extended powercycle and resetting your network hardware.

" 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

Do you have an Xbox App on your mobile device? If yes, can you please try messaging from there to check?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Kindly check if there is an enforcement action on your account. Please go to https://enforcement.xbox.com. If there is none, simply remove and re-add your account by following the steps below:

" REMOVE ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

4. When you're finished, select Close.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

ADD ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

3. Enter the Email address and the password.

4. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console."
