Xbox messages from Xbox live are not showing up

I don't get any messages from Xbox live. I reported a message for harassment, the message got deleted and normally I get an message saying: "Thank you for making xbox live safer..."

The last week's, probably longer, I didn't get any messages from Xbox live (from reports or anything) and now a friend of mine bought a game for me.

Normally there pops a message up with a code, but I didn't get this message. He looked in his mail and sent me the code for the game, but it showed that the code was already used.

The enforcement team don't always send a thank you message. So it's not unusual to not get those.

Make sure your friend entered all of your details correctly.

That's the way my message from Xbox Live was showing up. Can you download your gamertag on a friend's Xbox 360?

On the Xbox you will receive a message from Xbox Live.

When the console is on press the Xbox logo on the controller until a menu comes up on the left. Press the Right Bumber (RB) once and it will take you to the messages, any new messages that you received will show up in this menu.

If Xbox Live has send you a message it will show under Xbox Live. They will give a little message with a code at the end of the message. This code you will need to redeem on the account you wish it to be linked to.

Faster way is to contact Xbox Support and they will be able to assist with getting the code sooner which they will add the game straight to the account that has played for more than 5 hours.

If I read message while in Xbox live it will still show I have a message, when I go to my Xbox one console and read the message it clears it from Xbox live
