Xbox menu scrolling issue

Just to confirm, exactly which Xbox One model are you referring to? Do you have the official Xbox controller, or a third party one?

Are you an Xbox Insider and what OS version are you currently on? You can find this info in Settings > System > Console info. If there’s any pending software updates, be sure to install and apply these.

If you have a wireless controller, then also verify that there’s no wireless interference between the controller and console. Controller drift is usually the reason for this error, but this is unlikely as you’ve replaced the controller. I would still recommend updating the firmware, though:

There’s a lot of similar threads on this issue so it seems to be quite common. There’s a helpful Reddit thread discussing this.

If this persists, then try to reset your console from the troubleshooter menu as this should resolve the issue with a significant improvement overall. Refer to the reply from XBF Ezra G in the following thread for detailed steps:

Important select the ‘keep my games and apps’ option first, and be sure you remember your account email address and password before you reset your console. As long as you have an internet connection to the Xbox Live network, your game saves/progress won’t be lost.

- Turn your Xbox off

- Press and hold both the bind button and the eject button on your Xbox.

NOTE: The bind button is the one you use to sync wireless controllers to your Xbox, and the eject button is the one you use to eject discs.

- With the bind and eject buttons still held down, press and release the power button. At this time, you will hear a startup chime.

- Continue holding the bind and eject buttons until you hear the startup chime a second time

- Release the bind and eject buttons.

- Select Reset this Xbox from the menu.

- Choose the option "Keep my games & apps"

I am experiencing this same issue. Sometimes turning off and on the controller fixes it for a short time. But I think that's just coincidence.

May just be the controller. Had this issue with the dashboard. Some games in made no difference but on Rainbow 6 it was really noticeable and with Overwatch, I couldn't even choose a menu option. Ended up having to get a new controller.
