    Xbox Media Remote volume commands not working on Xbox Series S


    On this Xbox Series S:

    - The Xbox Media Remote will turn the console on and off (so the remote is working);

    - The console will turn the TV on and off (so HDMI-CEC is working);

    - Volume commands (volume up, down, mute) from the remote don't do anything.

    Both the console and the TV are on the latest update. Problem persists after reinitializing the console as well as turning HDMI-CEC off and on. Any feedback or solution welcome.

    Media Remote

    I think I have the same or similar issue. What's weird is that my Philips HTL2160 soundbar works great using the Kinect voice volume commands but not with the Media Remote. If I use the volume button on the remote my soundbar blinks like something is happening,
    but the volume never changes. Yet, the mute button on the remote works fine. Again, the voice commands work fine for volume. Weird. Anyone find a solution?

    Xbox one media remote won't control TV

    Well, no matter what I try, the official Microsoft Media Remote just won't control my TV's volume. I thought maybe it was my off-brand Sanyo TV but tried it on my other LG TV and it behaved the same. The Kinect can control the TV's volume with voice commands,
    but not the media remote.

    Returning this and I will try a third party remote and hope for better functionality.

    I also had my receiver remote code listed in the XB1 database setup, but it didn't work because it was for zone two which is like the "B" set of speakers. I looked up my remote code online and entered it manually (last 4 digits). That worked and the command
    is Xbox volume up and Xbox volume down.

    The media remote does work on the Xbox One S, as do all Xbox accessories :)
