Xbox Media Player not working

Hi

So, a few days ago I had my console (Series X) signed into Alpa Skip Ahead, since that day I noticed that the Media Player is not opening to its full. It just pops the Launching Screen and takes me back to Home Screen. At first I thought it was my USB that was broken, but now tried again with a HDD and happened the same.

Someone here has the same issue?? Were you able to solve it?

So do i and streaming works fine.

I had to allow streaming to xbox one in windows media player then leave windows media player and the media player app on x1 running for a few minutes before it started working.

I thought that Xbox only worked with Windows Media Center. Not Windows Media Player

The Xbox (and other media devices) don't access your media files directly. Instead they use something called DLNA, which requires your PC to have indexed your media library.

Then only the index is read by the Xbox (or other media players), and according to that index, you choose the files to play.

If you moved files around, or the index became corrupted, the Xbox can't find the media files anymore.

Please start the Windows Media player on your PC, and check that in that Media Player library, your media files are shown and are working correctly.

If the Media Player can't locate your media, the Xbox 360 can't get to the media as well.

Our suggestion here, attempt a Soft Factory Rest Xbox Support by selecting the following:

Reset and keep my games & apps. You should use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

Try this step, and let us know if this works.
