Discus and support Xbox media player bug??? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Hi there everyone, I was wondering if anyone had problem connecting to there cpu since the last windows update.     Hi there everyone, I was wondering if anyone had problem connecting to there cpu since the last windows update. And if anyone had it have you found any way to get it working again. Thanks and if I found it before anyone I'll let you know.

    hahaha, ok got it. Its 2014 I was hoping maybe microsoft had given into the fact everyone has an iphone. never mind. thanks

    Xbox media player bug???

    Okay if anyone had this problem it's now solved and all you need to do is deactivate windows media player on your CPU, restart and reactivate it. Simple but was a pain to find.

    Windows Media Player is not on Xbox, there is the Xbox Media Player, is that what you mean?

    The Xbox (and other media devices) don't access your media files directly. Instead they use something called DLNA, which requires your PC to have indexed your media library.

    Then only the index is read by the Xbox (or other media players), and according to that index, you choose the files to play.

    If you moved files around, or the index became corrupted, the Xbox can't find the media files anymore.

    Please start the Windows Media player on your PC, and check that in that Media Player library, your media files are shown and are working correctly.

    If the Media Player can't locate your media, the Xbox 360 can't get to the media as well.

    I am having the exact same issue. Uninstalled Media Player and now it's unavailable... Very frustrating. Why does Xbox One Media Player feel like a huge step back from Xbox 360 Media Player?

    Try a hard reset, and disconnect the power brick from the power and disconnect the HDMI cable.

    I don't think this involves the HDMI cabling, but was told to switch mine out when I asked the same thing (noticed the same with mine).

    I however think it is a bug in the software where it times out (not seeing activity from the controller) instead of seeing activity through media players such as media player, video player, youtube or Netflix.

    This just started when the lastest update was downloaded.
