Xbox mechanical noises

My xbox one s grinds and makes noises when i turn it on and then it shuts down. There is no disc inside. I bought it 7 months ago and it says its not under warranty which i think it should be?

you have a years warranty from the date of purchase, i would get in touch with support if you can.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

the hum noise sounds mechanical but it is in the game no other messages error codes yes the game pass icon is in the corner

Any mechanical noise apart from the fan being used and the HDD spinning up and down are normal, a ticking noise I have not heard of. Do they have a XBOX1X on display to see if it happens on that unit?

Yep, I never use discs on my consoles. I think it's just the noise of the Blu-ray loading mechanism initialising, ready to accept a disc.
