    So I started playing Halo MC and I noticed it was making this weird buzzing sound. I tried popping NHL 16 in and the same thing. I'm wondering if it means anything.

    plug and play

    When I play with the controller on charge, friends on live tell me they can hear weird sounds and/or a loud buzzing sound as well as my voice. Is this normal? as I can't hear theirs buzzing when on charge. Any ideas what the problem is please?.

    Hello

    My one x is manifesting a weird issue.When i play some games i hear a weird buzzing sound.

    Sometimes is changing the intensity depending on the game i play.

    For example in Witcher 3 is a high intensity buzzing sound, in For Honor or warframe is a bit higher pitched.

    It can only be heard from aprox 50cm away from the console.

    As soon as i quit to the dashboard the buzzing stops.

    Should i be worried and send it to warranty or its a common problem with the one x?

    Hey there. The first thing that I would try is a full power cycle. To make sure the system fully shuts down, go to Settings, Power, Turn Xbox off. Wait a few seconds and turn it back on and see if it's still happening. If it is, do the same thing, but unplug
    the power cord and HDMI cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Also, make sure the HDMI cable is tightly seated in your TV. After 5 minutes, plug it back in and make sure the cables are fully pushed in to the console.

    If that doesn't help, it sounds like your disc drive may be faulty and you may have to send it in for repair.

    Tried both methods and it still seems to do it. It also does it if there's no disc in the drive. I don't know if that means anything.

    Check the whole case and make sure there's nothing in the vents rubbing a fan. If there's not, it sounds like your console will need repaired. You can start the process at

    Thing of it is, it is "a" fan making that noise. The system has two. The fact that you blocked the primary fan by the side vent obviously isn't going to stop it, and updating the software isn't going to cause it. The secondary fan only really runs while
    your not playing games, as the spinning disc from the ODD is nearly a fan unto itself, and the system doesn't require as much cooling as it's now pulling some of it's processing power from the ODD and HDD combined instead of just the HDD. It's probably just
    a bit of packing plastic that didn't get completely removed from the fan when it was installed. I don't think it's going to hurt anything, but the system is supposed to be whisper quiet and since it's still under warranty and you have the option to take it
    back to Best Buy and swap it out, there really is no sense in taking an unnecessary risk. Might as well go swap it.
