Xbox makes loud noise on start up

so my Xbox one makes a loud whirring noise when i turn it on sometimes the noise well stop but after a few seconds well come back

Xbox 360 Noise

Hey,

So basically my xbox 360 is making a mad noise when its turned on, a loud squeaking noise and then the fans start whirring up and make a loud loud noise. My console had to go off to get repaired 2 times, and this noise has been there ever since it came back.
And before you say it, its not anything to do with lack of ventilation as its in a open area and has plenty of air to use. How can this be fixed or sorted out? its so noisy and espically when i play it at nightime late on its kina awkward...

 

My XBOX 360 won't spin up.

Usually when I start my XBOX it spins up and makes a loud noise but now it wont it just makes some weird noises. So it doesn't get past the XBOX 360 logo when you first start it up. But if it does get past the logo it wont read my game disc. So I usually
have to keep restarting my XBOX until it finally works right.

Thanks for bringing this up to our attention. I would like to clarify a few things, is this an Xbox One, One S or One X? Also, when did this noise start happening? Have you attempted to change it to a different outlet to see if it makes a difference?

One thing I would suggest for now meanwhile we gather more information is to try to reset the power supply on the Xbox.

To reset/refresh power supply follow these steps:

1. Power off your console by pressing the Xbox button for 10 seconds.
2. Unplug the cables from the console, wall outlet, and power supply itself. (wait 30 seconds)
   
   Important Be sure to wait 30 seconds. This step lets the power supply reset. Make sure you unplug the power supply unit from both the wall and your Xbox One console.
   
3. Firmly plug the power cable back into the electrical outlet and the power supply and turn on the Xbox.
   

Is the noise still persisting? Let us know.

 

its made the problem a little better it now makes no noise after a minute its a Xbox one and the noise started a few days ago

Thanks for reaching out. How is the environment where the console is located? Does it have proper ventilation? The console should be horizontal on a flat surface with nothing obstructing its air vents. What kind of sound is it making would you say it sounds
like a fan noise or more of a hard drive whirring? Let us know with a reply

 

Is there a disk in the optical drive?

 

its in a little shelf area with only thing next to it is my 360 i think the fan is making the noise it sounds like its spinning hard then just stops making the noise after a little bit. it sounds a bit like a dvd trying to start up but there is no dvd

If you feel that the noise is a bit too loud and could be a problem with the console then I would advise that you register the console and check for warranty to set up a repair through the

Device Support page. If you are having trouble through the website, go ahead and request to chat with an agent or a callback from

problem that is causing this could be in the OS of the console so we suggest a
Soft Factory Reset (while
keeping games and apps) Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

• There is a stable network connection.

• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)
